The video My split eye places under scrutiny the act of observing north Korea's landscape through the large panoramic windows that are used as observatories of sort. By doing so, a parralel with the cinematic situation is established. Similar to a projection screen, those large windows incite to project memories. Those projected histories add an extra layer unto what is directly seen through those windows. Such cinematic relation to the border generates hallucinatory images of the absence of an other.
