Experimental film shot in Trouville with the writer Yann Andréa who was the last companion of Marguerite Duras. Considered by Gérard Courant to be the writer-filmmaker's most radical film, it is a meta-film in which the filmmaker comments in voice-over on the very condition of the camera's relationship to her subject and, beyond, that of the enunciator (the filmmaker) and of the receiver (the spectator) through the intermediary of the cinematographic representation (the spectacle). Long black segments punctuate an image strip essentially made up of portraits of the actor and a few views of the stripped seaside. (F.Tachou)
The film was restored in 4K by the Cinémathèque francaise in 2024 with the collaboration of Jean Mascolo and the Collectif Jeune Cinéma from the original 35mm negatives.
The sound was restored by TransPerfect Media lab.
